unwrapped December 1, 2006
i think it’s really important to give back to your community, in whatever ways you are able- whether that’s your time, your talent or your finances. to that end, i like to donate my services to non-profits and charities around town when i’m able. tomorrow night i’ll be providing photography coverage for the union project’s holiday kick off event. ticket’s are just $20 if you can make it out to support a great cause; there’s going to be a ton of cool entertainment, plus a silent auction. it’s this saturday, december 2 from 7-10, at the corner of stanton and negley in highland park. you can buy the tickets through their website.
the union project restored an abandoned church to provide a gathering and working space for artists, community builders and people of faith. so while i’m not from highland park, i really dig what they are doing, and think it’s important to support projects like this. i’d love to see similar initiatives pop up in other communities around pittsburgh; kind of like what john fetterman is doing in braddock and andy rubacky is doing in bellevue.
