Gretchen and Jim May 14, 2007
i was the second shooter for a wedding yesterday for shannon. it was my first time shooting an orthodox wedding, and let me tell you, their ceremonies are beautiful! here are a few pics from the day:
i love the way they are emerging from the light here, like in a dream. plus the smile and anticipation on her face are priceless.

their first dance. that’s her sister taking a picture in the background.

i think this is a great moment between the two of them, but what i love most about this shot is the expression on the faces of the people watching in the background.
Awesome pics Kim! I can’t wait to see the rest of them. Jim & Gretchen are going to be so pleased.
Thanks so much!
Shannon
When do I get to work with you? So I can sit back and have you make images like this!!!
ha! i’d love to shoot with you erich! let me know when you need a second shooter. preferably somewhere exotic…
These are awesome pictures! Gretchen and I are so excited to see all the photos you guys took. Thanks so much for all your work at our wedding. I hope it was fun, as well.
Thanks! Jim
You did a FABULOUS job w/ the pix!!! can’t wait to see the rest of them! Btw-thank you for not getting me @ a bad angle!! Everything is beautiful in the pictures!!
thanks so much jim and nikki! i had a great time; everyone was amazing and the day was just beautiful. and nikki, you were so much fun! thanks for making me laugh throughout the day!
Dear Kim-So sorry that it took me this long to let you know that we just love the pictures! The expressions that you shot were wonderful. We loved that so many shots showed Gretchen’s and Jim’s faces. So often the ceremony pics are showing the backs of the couple’s head and the face of the priest. You captured the love and joy that we were all feeling. The black and whites are amazing!!! Thank you for doing such a great job. You and Nate were super to work with-you moved around so quickly and inconspicuously. We’re hoping that you get to shoot another Eastern Orthodox wedding. Whether it is Ukrainian (as this was) or Greek, Serbian, Russian, or Syrian, the service will be the same.
thank you so much for your kind words bonnie! it was truly a pleasure to photograph the day for your family. i hope i get to shoot another orthodox wedding soon- the ceremonies are just phenomenal to witness!
