photos in lux

Filed under: just me, press — kim @ 5:20 pm

the december/january issue of lux magazine features a write up on liquid sundays, accompanied by photos by yours truly. check it out! *in the online version, the pics appear a little pixelated. in the print version, all is well.
(and has anyone else noticed that the fish at the top of the liquid sundays website will follow your mouse? that amuses me to no end.)

Only 2 seats remain for Flourish, our 3 day, intensive, all-inclusive, ultra fabulous photography workshop in January! If you’ve been on the fence as to whether or not to go, now would be a pretty good time to make a decision. :)

inspiration

Filed under: just me, objects of my affection — kim @ 1:43 am

I’ve come across this quote several times now over the last few months, and I just love it. I finally copied and pasted it onto my desktop. :)
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~ Marianne Williamson

new studio! December 1, 2007

Filed under: just me — kim @ 4:33 pm

big news!

i’m so so so happy and excited to announce that i recently got some new studio/ office space in the fabulous and arty neighborhood of lawrenceville. i officially moved in november 1 and have spent the last month painting, building, cleaning, and purchasing. it’s super close to being finished (and I’ll post photos as soon as it is), but i just had to share the exciting news.

this is where i’ll be working out of, meeting clients, and i’ll also be doing some photography projects based out of here. (i’ll be unveiling some of the new stuff over the next several months).

incidentally, the cookie tour is in lawrenceville this weekend. so if you find yourself in the area, be sure to stop by one on the scheduled shops for a free cookie! (tomorrow is the last day, so be sure to go before the steeler game).

today i am thankful for… November 22, 2007

Filed under: just me — kim @ 1:25 pm

-my family, and their health

-my wonderful husband, who tolerates my crazy work schedule, which regularly keeps me in front of the computer until 2am. (thanks baby)
-my business, the success of it over the past year, and the fabulous people i’ve met. i’m thankful that people connect with me and my style. i can’t imagine doing anything else in the world.
-my health

-my friends. i’ve got a great group of girls that i’m really close with. i feel very fortunate to have friends that i can laugh with, cry with, and then laugh again.

what are you thankful for?

photographik November 21, 2007

Filed under: wedding resources, photography resources, just me — kim @ 8:29 pm

as a business owner, i’m always trying to be wise in where my advertising dollars are spent. with a few exceptions, i prefer to spend my money with organizations that are selective with their screening process. i’d rather be part of an elite organization that has high standards and screens their applicants, than one who accepts everyone who applies.

i first heard about photographik from beckers blog several months ago, and was delighted when i was accepted. however, i’ve been so busy with my fall weddings, that i didn’t have time to send in my info. i was finally able to last week, and jesse, the founder, just emailed me to let me know my listing is live. check it out here.
if you’re a photographer that’s looking for a site that promotes only the best wedding and portrait photographers, check out photographik. and if you’re looking for a wedding or portrait photographer across the united states, it’s a fabulous resource.
